Sanchong 三重區, Taipei

2/02/2012 Taiwan Explorer
1. Introduction

• Known for: population density
• Population: 390,000 (2013, source)
• Wade-Giles: San-chong
• Pinyin: Sānchóng
• Romaji: Sanchou
• Map: My map of Sanchong

Sanchong 三重區 is one of Taipei's northwestern districts, located between Sinjhuang and Luzhou in what is known as one of Taipei's most densely populated area. Sanchong's development in recent years has improved, but it's still one of the least appealing parts of Taipei, so there are not many places to recommend. If you ever decide to visit this area, here are some of my personal recommendations of interesting spots: Yitian Temple and Xianse Temple.
