Wenshan 文山區, Taipei

8/23/2011 Taiwan Explorer
1. Introduction

• Known for: mountains
• Population: 269,000 (2012, source)
• Wade-Giles: Wen-shan
• Pinyin: Wénshān
• Romaji: Bunsan
• Map: My map of Wenshan

Wenshan 文山區 is one of Taipei's southern districts famous for the Taipei Zoo and the Maokong Mountain, which is a popular weekend destination for Taipeiers, who want to take a break. Wenshan is one of the biggest districts by size, but less densely populated than most other districts. Here are the must see buildings and parts of Wenshan (my personal recommendations): Chi Nan Temple, Maokong and Taipei Zoo.
