Taishan 泰山區, Taipei

1/12/2011 Taiwan Explorer
1. Introduction

• Known for: rural area
• Population: 78,000 (2012, source)
• Wade-Giles: T'ai-shan
• Pinyin: Tàishān
• Romaji: Taisan
• Map: My map of Taishan

Taishan 泰山區 is one of Taipei's north-western districts, known for being a predominantly industrial and rural area. The core of Taishan is stretched along the Mingzhi Road, which is also the oldest part of the district where most of the restaurants and shops are located. Here are the must see buildings and parts of Taishan (my personal recommendations): Mingzhi Academy, both Taishan Rock Temples and Fuda Night Market.
